Itinerary:
You are invited to join me as I train for my Rainier climb this July. My training ground is the Coosa Backcountry Trail, a rugged 13 mile loop that originates at Vogel State Park. This is a very strenuous trail with extended climbs and descents. The trail meanders through remote areas and a permit is required from the park office to hike this trail. This hike is for advanced hikers only. You must have previous experience hiking up and down hills for 10 or more miles. If I do not know you, expect a screening call to determine if you are up to this hike.

I will be carrying a heavy pack for training purposes, so my pace will be slower than normal - so you can either 1. Carry a heavy pack and train with me 2. Hike slower, take pictures, explore or 3. Relax at the park office until I finish. If you’re a fast hiker, expect to wait after you finish.

We will depart from the Mansell Park and Ride at 7:00 am sharp!
